Social activities

Edinburgh Language Academy has a weekly social activity programme for our students in July and August.

The programme includes visits to main sightseeing attractions, historical monuments and places of interest. Once a week in the summer months, you will have the chance to visit galleries and museums with a teacher in the afternoon.

This will give you an opportunity to use the English you have learned in real situations with the support of the teacher.

Social Life

Over the last few years, The Grassmarket has become the central area for nights out. Most of the city’s clubs and music venues are here.

Cinema

There are many cinemas in Edinburgh. Each area has its own cinemas. If you stay in Leith, there is Vue at the Omni Centre and at Ocean Terminal. There is The Odeon on Lothian Road. There are also two cinemas in the city centre, The Filmhouse and The Cameo. They show European and arthouse films. Morningside has The Dominion, which is very popular in the local area. The Fountainbridge entertainment centre has many things to do: from another Vue Cinema to bowling, and cafes and restaurants.
