English for Work

From the New Year, ELA will offer the SQA Intermediate 2 ESOL unit "English for Work-related Contexts".

This unit is especially relevant for people who have recently come to Edinburgh and want to improve their English to get a better job. 

Course Schedule

This is a 10 week course

• Four hours per week
• Tuesday 18:30 - 20:30
• Wednesday 18:30 - 20:30
• Start Tuesday, January 19th 2010
• Finish Thursday, March 25th 2010

Course Description

• The cost of the course includes all photocopied materials, although students will be asked to buy a textbook and workbook.
• Students will take a level check before the course starts to ensure that their English is of a suitable level for the qualification.
• The teacher and the student will agree on a learning plan. This will help the teacher to plan the lessons and will help the student to study and learn independently.
• The unit is continuously assessed by the teacher, using materials provided by the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
