Executive English and Activity programmes

Language study with activity programmes are becoming more popular every year. A programme will involve Executive English 1-to-1 lessons and a leisure or sporting activity in the afternoon. The lessons can be at your hotel.

Executive English plus Golf programme

Scotland is the home of golf. Edinburgh has more than 20 golf courses within a short distance of the city.

We offer English plus Golf at the Marine Golf Hotel, Dalmahoy and Gleneagles. We can tailor a week’s golf and English for your language and golf skills. The choice is yours.

A typical day involves English lessons in the morning and golf in the afternoon. During the summer months you can take a second round of golf in the evening.

Marine Golf Hotel in North Berwick

The Macdonald Marine Hotel & Spa is at the heart of the East Lothian golfing coast.  From the hotel, you can see North Berwick's Championship West Links course. The course includes one of golf's most copied holes, the infamous 15th, "Redan".

The Dalmahoy Hotel

Dalmahoy is a golfers’ paradise. It has two 18-hole courses, a PGA-approved golf academy, a gym, a swimming pool, a spa and tennis courts.

We also offer:

English plus Skiing or Snowboarding at Hillend Ski Centre (winter only)
English plus Climbing at Edinburgh International Climbing Arena
English plus Tennis at Craiglockhart
English plus Mountain Biking at Aberfoyle
English plus Theatre and literary tours
English plus Hunting – seasonal
English plus Fishing – seasonal

Executive English Homestay programme

One of the 'Executive English' options is our Homestay programme.

You will be welcomed into your host's home and you will live as a member of the family. Your one-to-one lessons will be for you and your needs. This, together with outings and social events, will give you the most out of your time here.

Lessons are available as 15, 20 or 25 hours per week. You will spend the mornings in lessons with your teacher, afternoons free to explore the city. In the evening, you eat with the family and have a chance to practise your English. For each of the options, you can choose between activities and lessons. For example, a student taking 20 hours can choose 15 hours formal lessons and two museum, gallery trips or any of the city’s attractions.
